Philadelphia-City of Brotherly Beards?

so i was looking through some of my old albums earlier and noticed reef the lost cauze with a big *** scruffy beard on the cover of feast or famine...then i thought about that big beard freeway used to have...and that reminded me of back when beanie sigel used to have a big ol' grizzly adams beard...what is it with rappers and beards in Philly? Is it an actual trend, or a few seperate coincidences that form the appearence of a trend? does my beard make me cooler in Philly then it does in Oakland?
